Car Window Tinting ButlerCooler Back Seats for Kids
Car window tinting in Butler typically costs $249 to $550, depending on your vehicle size, window layout and the film you choose. Old tint removal is roughly $50 to $150 extra where bubbling film, adhesive or fading needs extra preparation.

The Butler service works like the rest of our window tinting in Perth: we come to you. See how mobile car tinting works before you book, and if heat is the main problem, compare ceramic tint with our other films. Other nearby suburbs we cover include Joondalup, Wanneroo and Wangara.
Does Tint Protect Kids in the Back Seat from UV?
Yes, quality automotive film reduces UV exposure for children in the back seat. Rayno Phantom S9-35 blocks over 99.99% of UV and SunTek CIR 35 over 99%. Tint also softens side-window glare, which helps on bright school runs and trips down the Mitchell Freeway.
Tint is one part of sun safety, not a substitute for sunscreen, hats and clothing. Cancer Council WA recommends combining shade with other protection. And never leave children unattended in a car, tinted or not.

Glare Reduction for Family Driving
Direct sun through the side and rear windows makes back-seat passengers uncomfortable. The right film softens glare, adds privacy and limits the UV reaching upholstery and trim. Darker is not automatically better, though: heat rejection, UV, visibility and the legal position of each window all matter.
We look at which windows your passengers sit beside, which way the car is usually parked and whether you drive most in strong morning or afternoon sun, then recommend a legal film that suits.
Daily Driving Benefits
- Less direct glare through the side and rear glass
- UV filtering for passengers and the interior
- More privacy for rear passengers and belongings
- Heat control, depending on the film variant
- A more comfortable cabin on sunny commutes and school runs
Quick answer: if glare and heat are the main worries, ask about TSER as well as shade. TSER is the share of the sun's energy a film rejects, so it says more about heat than darkness does.

The Long Commute South
Butler is a long way north of the city, so many residents drive a long way south on the Mitchell Freeway every day. Low morning and late-afternoon sun comes through the side glass for much of that trip.
Side and rear tint cuts the glare and the build-up of heat over a long drive, while the front windows stay at 35%. Our guide on how tinting helps reduce glare explains the difference.

WA Tint Limits for Butler Vehicles
Tint rules are set state-wide by the WA Department of Transport in its IB-119D bulletin, so they are the same in Butler as anywhere in WA:
- Every window forward of the B pillar must measure at least 35% VLT through the glass and film together.
- On passenger vehicles, glass behind the B pillar can go to 20% VLT, only where external mirrors are fitted on each side.
- The windscreen can only take a band across the top, above the wiper sweep and no more than 10% of its area.
- Film reflectance is limited to 10%.
Factory glass already absorbs some light, so we check the finished reading rather than the label on the film. Our guide to the darkest legal tint in WA has the detail.
