Car Window Tinting Victoria ParkNo Garage Needed

In Victoria Park, Protec Glass Tinting charges $249 to $550 for car window tinting, with a $0 call-out to your home or workplace. Old tint removal is $50 to $150 extra. We can fit the film in a carport or covered bay, and you can pay by cash, card or bank transfer.

We have focused on mobile tinting since 1994. Before booking, you can talk through your vehicle, any existing tint, the look you want and a WA-compliant shade.

We bring mobile window tinting to Victoria Park as part of our Perth car tinting work, fitting the film on your driveway or at the office. For the coolest cabin without going darker, ask about our ceramic tint range. Neighbouring areas we cover include South Perth, Belmont and Cannington.

Is Window Tinting Legal in WA?

Yes, when the finished glass and film meet WA's rules. Under the WA Department of Transport's IB-119D bulletin, windows forward of the B pillar need at least 35% VLT, and windows behind it can go to 20% where external mirrors are fitted on each side. The windscreen can only take a band above the wiper sweep, no more than 10% of its area, and reflectance is capped at 10%.

Important: the legal reading is taken through the factory glass and the film together. A film's label is not necessarily the final reading on your car.

Choosing a Legal Shade

For most drivers, a 35% front-window film is the practical starting point for cutting glare while staying compliant. The rear windows can be darker where the mirror condition is met. Even so, the factory glass, any old tint and the final measured VLT matter more than a film's name or shade label.

Not sure which tint suits your car? Send us the year, model, body style and whether there is old film on it, and we will suggest an option before the appointment. Plenty of Victoria Park cars live on the street or in an open bay near Albany Highway, and you do not need a garage for us to tint: a carport, covered bay or sheltered spot is enough.

Heat-Reducing Ceramic Film

At the legal front shade, SunTek CIR 35 is 35% VLT with 52% TSER and over 99% UV blocked, and Rayno Phantom S9-35 is 35% VLT with 58% TSER and over 99.99% UV. On eligible rear glass, CIR 20 is 22% VLT and 58% TSER, and S9-20 is 20% VLT and 64% TSER.

TSER is a manufacturer measure of how much of the sun's energy the film rejects. How hot your cabin actually gets also depends on the glass, the car's colour, where it is parked, the sun angle and the air-conditioning. SunTek CIR carries the Skin Cancer Foundation Seal of Recommendation for its UV protection.

What Tint Can a Rideshare Car Have in WA?

A rideshare car must meet IB-119D and any rules set by its platform. That means 35% VLT or lighter forward of the B pillar, and 20% behind it where mirrors are fitted on both sides. Road-rule compliance and platform acceptance are separate checks, and platform policies change, so check the current requirements in your driver app before choosing a shade.

Rideshare drivers spend long days on the road with passengers in the back, so a cooler, more private rear cabin is worth having within the limits. See the darkest legal tint in WA for more.
