Car window tinting Bassendean: a grey SUV parked in an open grassy field

Car Window Tinting BassendeanRiverside Town, Cooler Cabins

Car window tinting in Bassendean costs $249 to $550 with Protec Glass Tinting. We come to your home or workplace with no call-out fee, and removing old tint is about $50 to $150 extra. SunTek CIR and Rayno Phantom S9 both carry a lifetime manufacturer warranty against bubbling, peeling, cracking and colour change.

Quick answer: a full car usually takes one to three hours, and we confirm the legal shade for each window before we start.

Bassendean is part of our mobile car tinting Perth service: we come to you. See what a mobile visit involves before you book, and if heat is the main problem, compare the films on our ceramic window film page. Other nearby suburbs we cover include Guildford, Morley, Midland and Ellenbrook. Compare our car window tint films before you book.

Older Homes, Street Parking and Summer Heat

Bassendean is one of Perth's older riverside towns, and plenty of cars here live on the street or on a driveway in full sun, which bakes the cabin and fades the dashboard over time.

Film on the side and rear glass cuts the heat that builds up while the car is parked and blocks over 99% of UV. If the car has old purple or bubbling tint, we strip it first and fit fresh film. Read why window tinting protects against UV rays for more on what the sun does inside a car.

Swan River Glare and the Morning Commute

Drivers heading into the city along Guildford Road have the low morning sun behind or beside them, and reflected light off the Swan River near the bridges adds to it. Tint on the side and rear glass takes the edge off that brightness.

The front windows stay at 35% or lighter by law, so the road stays clear in poor light. Bassendean sits next to Guildford, Morley and Midland, and we cover all of them on the same terms.

For a car that lives on the street, the extra heat rejection of Rayno Phantom S9 is usually the better choice. SunTek CIR gives a natural, factory-style finish, and Rayno Phantom S9 rejects more solar energy at each shade, going by the SunTek specifications and Rayno's published figures. Both are non-metallic, so phone, GPS and radio signals are unaffected, and every install carries a lifetime manufacturer warranty against bubbling, peeling, cracking and colour change. Paint Protection for Cars Parked Under Trees

Bassendean's leafy streets mean sap, leaves and bird droppings on cars parked kerbside, and both can etch paint if they bake in the sun. Window tint does not help with that, but we also fit paint protection film, a clear layer on the bonnet and exposed panels that takes the damage instead of the paint.

All we need is a clean, dry, sheltered space with room to open every door, such as a garage, carport or covered bay. Wind and dust are the enemies of a clean install, so an open driveway on a gusty afternoon is not ideal. Tell us what you have when you book and we will say whether it suits.

WA Tint Limits for Bassendean Vehicles

Tint rules are set state-wide by the WA Department of Transport in its IB-119D bulletin, so they are the same in Bassendean as anywhere in WA:

  • Every window forward of the B pillar must measure at least 35% VLT through the glass and film together.
  • On passenger vehicles, glass behind the B pillar can go to 20% VLT, only where external mirrors are fitted on each side.
  • The windscreen can only take a band across the top, above the wiper sweep and no more than 10% of its area.
  • Film reflectance is limited to 10%.

Factory glass already absorbs some light, so we check the finished reading rather than the label on the film. Our guide to the darkest legal tint in WA has the detail.
